FlexAssist is the companion mobile app for Myriota FlexSense. It supports in-field deployments and troubleshooting by providing installation guidance and tools to register, configure, diagnose, and update FlexSense devices.
This article provides a simple overview of the main FlexAssist functions and when to use them.

What you can do with FlexAssist
FlexAssist can be used to:
- Register a FlexSense device
- View key device information, including:
- Myriota module ID
- Module Serial Number
- Installed firmware and application information
- View essential device diagnostics to support troubleshooting
- Configure key device parameters
- Update the device with supported files, including:
- BLE firmware
- System image
- User application image
- Network information
Before you start
Before using FlexAssist, ensure you have:
- A FlexSense device
- The FlexAssist app installed on your mobile device
- Bluetooth enabled on your mobile device
- A Myriota Device Manager account, if registration or account access is required
- Any required update files provided by Myriota
When prompted, allow FlexAssist to use Bluetooth. Some mobile operating systems may also request location permissions for Bluetooth device discovery.
Basic workflow
A typical FlexAssist workflow is:
- Open FlexAssist.
- Sign in if required.
- Connect to the FlexSense device over Bluetooth.
- Review the device information.
- Register the device if it has not already been registered.
- Configure the required device parameters.
- Update firmware, application, or network information if required.
- Review diagnostics before deployment or during troubleshooting.
Registering a device
FlexAssist can be used to register a FlexSense device with Myriota Device Manager.
After connecting to the device, follow the registration prompts in the app. FlexAssist will display the device information required for registration, such as the Myriota module ID and module registration code.
Viewing device information and diagnostics
FlexAssist displays key device information and diagnostics to help confirm the device status before deployment or during troubleshooting.
This information can be useful when contacting Myriota Support. Where possible, include screenshots of the relevant FlexAssist pages when raising a support request.
Configuring device parameters
FlexAssist can configure supported FlexSense device parameters. The available options may depend on the application installed on the device.
After making changes, confirm that the configuration has been saved successfully before leaving the deployment site.
Updating a device
FlexAssist can update supported FlexSense files, including BLE firmware, system image, user application image, and network information.
Use only files provided or approved by Myriota for the specific device and application.
Before starting an update:
- Ensure the FlexSense device has sufficient battery power.
- Keep the mobile device close to the FlexSense device.
- Do not close FlexAssist or power off the device during the update.
- Ensure the correct update type and file are selected.
