Myriota Device Manager is a web-based platform for managing, monitoring, and configuring deployed Myriota devices. It provides performance data and operational visibility across your devices.
Account Registration
If you and your organisation are new to Myriota, your allocated Device Manager account administrator will receive an email upon device fulfillment to register your account. The registration link will expire within 30 days.
For any account registration issues, please submit a Support Request.
If your organisation already has a Device Manager account, do not submit a new registration request via our Support Request link. Please ask your account administrator to add you as a user. Device Manager accounts are created within an organisational account structure. This enables all of your Myriota devices to be displayed together and accessed in a single location by your team.
Device Management
Devices provides a central view of all registered Myriota devices in your account. It allows you to monitor device status, view message activity, and access key operational details such as last communication time, message counts, and device configuration. This view helps you quickly assess device health, identify inactive devices, and manage devices throughout their lifecycle.
The filter controls let you quickly narrow the device list by fields such as ID, label, device type, message activity, and SDK version, using conditions like equal, not equal, or contains.
Additional details are available by hovering over the '?' icons.
Device Registration
Myriota operates two distinct networks - the UltraLite Network and the HyperPulse Network, each supported by a dedicated range of devices. Detailed device information can be found on the Myriota Support Site. Before data can be delivered to your destinations, all devices must be registered in Device Manager. The registration steps vary slightly between the devices of the two networks.
UltraLite Devices
To register your device, you will require your device's registration code. The registration code is unique for each Myriota Module and can be found using DeviceAssist or the SDK.
Once you have obtained your registration code using one of the methods below, follow these steps:
- Log in to Device Manager.
- Select 'Devices' from the left navigation bar, then click the 'Register Device' button.
- Enter your device Registration Code.
- Select your Destination from the drop-down list.
- Give your device a Label.
- Click Register; your device is now registered with the Myriota Network.
Retrieving Registration Code using the SDK (optional)
Ensure that the SDK is already installed, that you can program the Myriota Module, and that you can read output from its serial port.
Retrieve your registration code using the updater.py script located in the SDK tools folder by running the following command:
updater.py --regcodeDuring registration, you will select a Destination for the device message data to be delivered.
HyperPulse Devices
Myriota aims to pre-register all devices and SIM cards on behalf of customers at the time an order is placed. Devices should appear in your Device Manager account shortly after purchase. If any exceptions occur, please submit a Support Request and include any available SIM card details along with your Device Manager account information.
Destination Management
Destinations are the data storage locations for Myriota devices. Once data has been received by the Myriota Network, it is processed and delivered to the Myriota Cloud, which then delivers the data to your configured Destinations. Each module can deliver its data to one or more destinations.
Supported destination types include HTTP and AWS. More details about using the Myriota Cloud API with these destination types can be found in the Cloud API guide and the AWS Lambda and HTTP code examples.
To get up and running quickly, you can use Myriota's AWS Message Store that comes preconfigured as your Destination. Alternatively, you can configure custom AWS and HTTP Destinations.
To configure a custom Destination:
- Log in to Device Manager, select Destinations in the left bar, then click the 'Create' button.
-
Give your Destination a label and enter the required information for your Destination type.
- Lambda; enter your Function ARN and Role ARN (if required).
- HTTP; enter your URL.
Destination Management Using the Myriota Cloud API
Destinations can also be configured using the Myriota Cloud API. For details, view the Cloud API overview and Destination Management code examples for AWS Lambda and HTTP.
Access Times
Access Times displays the current satellite pass schedule for the Myriota UltraLite Network. Enter a country and location in the search bar to view the next downlink and uplink access times for your selected location and service type.
More details about UltraLite service types can be found in the Service Types guide.
Download Binaries
Pre-compiled reference binaries are available from the Device Manager → Download Binaries menu. These binaries are grouped by platform and use case, including Myriota FlexSense, Myriota UltraLite Developer Tool Kit, and Myriota HyperPulse.
Notes
An active Device Manager account is required to access and download binaries.
When upgrading to a new Module SDK or FlexSDK, both the corresponding system image and application binary must be reprogrammed onto the device to ensure compatibility. For FlexSense, upgrading the BLE firmware is also recommended to access the latest functionality.
When upgrading a HyperPulse application, it is recommended to upgrade the network configuration file as well, allowing the device to use the latest network configurations.
Some reference applications include associated message parsers, which can be used to decode payloads generated by the application.
Terms of Use
The terms under which Myriota agrees to license the binaries to you are outlined in the Binary License. Your acceptance of all of these terms is indicated by accessing and continuing to access and use the binary files provided by Myriota.
